About Bonnie

Yeager String Studio is the passion-project of Ms. Bonnie Yeager, violin and viola performer and educator. Through private lessons and group classes, Ms. Bonnie develops students of all ages into life-long musicians who celebrate the joy of music.

Ms. Bonnie's teaching is rooted in the Suzuki Method and the belief that "every child can!". Every child can take joy in learning music, every child can develop into an accomplished musician, and every child can benefit from non-musical skills gained through playing an instrument. It's true! Playing an instrument teaches students transferable skills to other academic and career pursuits, and studies have proven lifelong positive effects on the brain from playing an instrument.

From the earliest lessons for beginners up through advancing students in college and preparing for college, Ms. Bonnie nurtures the unique expressive abilities of each student while also cultivating their knowledge framework of theory and technique, all in an encouraging and supportive curriculum tailored to each student's learning style and personality.

Ms. Bonnie is a master musician, with an international performing career that has brought her to concert halls and stages all across the world. A proud graduate with a Master of Music degree from the prestigious Cleveland Institute of Music, Ms. Bonnie has won numerous highly competitive auditions for professional orchestras across the US and Canada. She continues an active performing schedule, performing recitals, chamber music, and with orchestras across the Midwest.

Please visit yeagerstringstudio.com for more information about Ms. Bonnie.

I am a graduate of the prestigious Cleveland Institue of Music (BM and MM) and the Interlochen Arts Academy (High School Diploma with arts concentration.)

As a performing musician, I have won competitive auditions for orchestral positions with orchestras across the US and Canada. I continue an active performing career, which keeps me in top shape in my own playing and keeps me connected to performing industry contacts for my students.

I am trained as a teacher in the Suzuki Method, which serves as the core of my teaching curriculum. I have a continued commitment to yearly professional development which keeps me connected to current trends in music and general education.

My teaching experience covers a broad range of work, including in public school programs, in conservatory preparatory schools, and in community youth development programs. I have worked with all ages, from toddlers and preschoolers to adults, and have experience working with students from many backgrounds.

About the lesson

I offer a trial lesson to new students, where students have the chance to play for me and hear feedback about how I would plan to work with them. I tailor the curriculum to each student's current level, personality and learning style, and short-term and long-term goals, with the goal of aligning the skillsets of technique, theory, solo repertoire, and ensemble playing. With frequent recital and ensemble performances, even new students will be working toward an upcoming performance goal.
