About Tanya
I hold a PhD in Biology and Physiology and am an active neuroscience researcher with extensive experience in biomedical research, university-level teaching, and student mentoring. I have taught and mentored undergraduate and graduate students in biology, physiology, and neuroscience.
As an active scientist, I bring current scientific knowledge and real-world research experience into my teaching. I enjoy making challenging concepts easier to understand and helping students connect what they learn in class with how biological systems actually work.
I am patient, approachable, and committed to providing a professional and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and building confidence. My goal is not only to help students succeed in their courses and exams, but also to help them truly understand the material and develop confidence in their ability to learn and apply it.

I make anatomy and physiology clear and understandable by helping students connect structure with function rather than simply memorizing facts. I explain complex concepts step by step, use diagrams and real-life examples, and adjust my teaching approach to each student's level and learning style.
A typical lesson begins by identifying the topics the student finds most challenging. We review the key concepts, work through questions together, and focus on understanding the mechanisms behind the material. I also help students prepare for exams and develop effective strategies for approaching anatomy and physiology questions.
As a university faculty member and neuroscientist with extensive research and teaching experience, I bring both scientific expertise and practical experience explaining complex biological concepts to students. My goal is to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and gain confidence in the material.
My lessons are ideal for undergraduate and college students taking introductory or intermediate Anatomy and Physiology, including students preparing for health-related fields.
