I am a university student who is currently finishing up my final year of an arts degree. I have spent time volunteering with an after school centre where I ran after school math programming for children aged four to thirteen.

My teaching methods are mainly hands on. I think that a younger student especially learns much better with props and with enthusiasm. In my experience using games as a way to teach math is beneficial. However, each child learns differently and a lesson will depend largely on how the child responds to being taught.
