About Florin

Hello! My name is Florin, and I’m a professionally trained cellist and music educator with over 13 years of experience performing and teaching across Europe and Asia. I hold a Master’s Degree in Cello Performance from the George Enescu University of Music in Romania and completed my postgraduate studies in Vienna, where I trained with some of the world’s leading musicians and educators. Throughout my career, I’ve performed as a soloist, in chamber ensembles, and in professional orchestras, while also teaching music in international schools. I believe in creating a supportive and structured learning environment that helps students gain confidence and express themselves through music. Whether you're a beginner or an advanced student, you can expect professional guidance, personalized lessons, and a passionate teacher dedicated to helping you reach your musical goals.

About the lesson

As a tutor, my approach is rooted in building a strong technical foundation while nurturing musical expression and creativity. I tailor each lesson to suit the student's level, pace, and personal goals, whether it's playing for pleasure, preparing for exams, or pursuing a professional path in music. Teaching Methodology: I combine traditional classical training with modern, engaging methods that help students connect with the instrument both technically and emotionally. My lessons emphasize: - Correct posture and bowing technique - Tone production and intonation - Musical interpretation and phrasing - Sight-reading, ear training, and music theory integration - Performance practice and building confidence For younger students, I incorporate fun, interactive exercises to make learning enjoyable and motivating. For advanced students, I provide high-level technical coaching and interpretive insight drawn from years of chamber music and solo performance. Qualifications & Experience: -Master's Degree in Cello Performance – George Enescu University of Music, Romania -Postgraduate Studies – University of Music and Performing Arts, Vienna -Over 13 years of experience performing in string quartets, orchestras, and as a soloist -Music educator at international schools, teaching students from diverse backgrounds and skill levels Who My Lessons Are For: -All levels – from complete beginners to advanced players -All ages – children (ages 6+), teens, and adults -Students preparing for music exams, auditions, or simply learning for enjoyment Both in-person (Kuala Lumpur) and online lessons available My goal is to inspire each student to grow in both skill and passion for music.
