About Celeste
Hello! I’m a violin tutor with over 8 years of experience and an Associate of Music in String Performance. My expertise is in Nordic folk styles, from Norwegian and Swedish fiddle to Klezmer. I enjoy teaching the ornaments, rhythms, and expressive phrasing that make these traditions unique.
Lessons focus on ear-based learning, rhythmic bowing, and ornamentation. I use folk jam tracks, drone tuners, and repertoire-driven exercises to immerse students in the music. Students learn to play with feeling and stylistic authenticity.
I emphasize listening, improvisation, and personal interpretation. We explore bowing patterns, ornament details, and phrasing that define each tradition. Lessons are hands-on, engaging, and adapted to individual goals.
