About Marissa
Hi there.
I am Marissa.
Born into a family of musicians, I can tell you that nothing passionates me more than a good tune on an instrument.
Jack of many, master of the violin, as I have studied it for 9 years, and started teaching right after, for 14 years. I won't tell you the age, I shall let you guess!
In my years of playing, I have performed i various gigs and shows, represented Malaysia in the SONY Music Festival, prepared students for group performances and concerts, and of course, sent them for exams.
I welcome ages 7 and above (with no limit), as their understanding of coordination, simple calculating and reading is more advanced.
Classes will be fun and encouraging.
I am open to both house calls, or having classes at mine in Old Klang Road.

My teaching method is based on the student's interests and intention. Predominantly, my focus will always fallback on the students core practices and strength.
I am a firm believer of getting the basics right, and everything will follow. Fundamental practices include position, bowing techniques, scales, sight reading, tempo counting, etc.
Teaching materials include Suzuki Methods, A Tune A Day, Mazas/Kayser for higher grades, and some induce of pop songs / duet pieces to expand their learning.
I also include theory in their learning to further strengthen their understanding of music.
