About Robert
I have over 3 years of experience teaching violin and hold a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance with a focus on Contemporary Repertoire. My classical training gives students a strong technical foundation while encouraging them to explore modern musical expression. I enjoy helping students discover confidence through both traditional and contemporary repertoire.
I teach orchestral excerpt preparation, ensemble playing, bowing technique, vibrato, phrasing, and musical interpretation across Classical, Contemporary, and Cinematic styles. I also prepare students for ABRSM and Trinity examinations with structured lessons and practical performance advice. One student improved their orchestra audition after we focused on phrasing and consistent bow control over several weeks.
I have experience coaching orchestras and ensembles, helping students listen carefully and perform confidently with others. My lessons are supportive, practical, and designed around each student's personal goals. My violin lessons focus on helping students develop a natural and expressive vibrato. I teach vibrato step by step so students build confidence without rushing the process. We practice controlling vibrato speed, width, hand relaxation, and smooth finger movement.
I also cover bow control, tone production, phrasing, intonation, shifting, and expressive dynamics. Every lesson connects technical skills with musical expression. I once worked with a student whose vibrato felt tense, and simple daily relaxation exercises helped them produce a warmer and more natural sound.
I enjoy supporting learners who use their voice professionally as well as adults who want to build confidence through music. I provide regular feedback and practical exercises that make steady improvement possible. This helps them perform with greater expression while feeling relaxed and in control.
Students learn how to apply vibrato to different musical styles instead of using the same sound everywhere. We celebrate small improvements because they lead to lasting confidence. With patience and consistent practice, you will add emotional depth to your playing.
