About Bhaswati
Bhaswati Sinha is a San Antonio-based professional mixed-media oil painter whose artistic practice revolves around the emotional and symbolic significance of light. She translates the human experience through the concept of glow and illumination that can be observed in nature, and her figurative artworks are designed to instill confidence, self-assurance, and emotional strength in the viewer. Her artistic vocabulary is characterized by smooth transitions of light, robust chiaroscuro, and storytelling that appeals to a wide range of viewers.
She has acquired the necessary skills to work with layered mixed-media oil painting to create atmospheric depth and visual interest in her artworks. Her artistic process begins with an inner collage and textured layer that imparts three-dimensional quality and subtle intrigue to the artwork. This is followed by an acrylic base layer that helps to define the composition, structure, and color harmony of the artwork. The final oil layer imparts balanced luminosity and ambient shadow that gives her artworks the characteristic depth of her studio practice.
Her artwork has been featured in juried shows, solo exhibitions, and art festivals throughout the United States. Some of her selected exhibitions include: Greater New Braunfels Arts Council, TX (Oct 2023); Gilpin County Arts Association, CO – 76th Annual Juried Show (June-Aug 2023); The Joe Center for the Arts, FL – Out of This World (Apr 2023); EPIC Gallery 2960, TX – Solo Exhibition (Mar 2023); Ludington Area Center for the Arts, MI – Celebrating the Sacred Feminine (Mar 2023); and Life in the West Art Gallery, CO (Feb 2023).
Some other exhibitions include: EVAC, NYC – Transforming Minds (Dec 2022); Newburyport Art Association, MA (Nov 2022-Jan 2023); Rhode Island Watercolor Society, RI – Wild Card (Oct-Nov 2022, 2nd Prize); International Museum of Art & Science (IMAS), TX (Oct-Dec 2022); Clever Tiger Art Gallery, TX (Aug-Sept 2022, 1st Prize); Rocky Mount Imperial Center, NC (May-Aug 2022); Centro San Antonio, TX – Art Everywhere (2022-2023); Ellington-White Contemporary Gallery, NC (2022); EPIC Gallery 2960, TX (2022); and Studio Channel Islands, CA (2022). In 2021, she won the First Prize award in the Milan Art Club international competition In a New Light.
In addition to her studio work, she has undertaken several professional client commissions for murals, including three large-scale commissions undertaken in September, October, and November of 2025.
Bhaswati Sinha continues to provide meaningful visual experiences that promote emotional well-being and access to fine art through her work in studio painting, public art, and community engagement.
