About Daniel

Hello! I’m a First-Class Modern Languages graduate from Exeter University. I also have teaching experience from École Pascal in Paris, a leading independent collège and lycée in central Paris.

I tutor French at GCSE, A-level and university level. I also tutor English Literature and History at any level up to and including A-level. My lessons are flexible, fun and engaging. They can be structured and exam-focused, covering key boards like AQA, Edexcel and Cambridge, or more relaxed and based around a students interests.

Teaching has always been a passion of mine, not just because I enjoy the subjects I specialise in, but because I find it so rewarding to watch ideas click into place for my students. Whether your goal is achieving top exam results, boosting your confidence, or simply making sense of tricky topics, I’m here to support and guide you throughout your learning journey!

Every student learns differently, so I design each lesson around your needs, abilities, and goals. My role isn’t just to deliver content, but to help you discover the strategies that make learning clearer and more manageable for you. I create a supportive, relaxed space where questions are welcome, mistakes are part of the process, and every bit of progress counts.

About the lesson

My lessons last one hour and are open to learners of all ages and stages, from complete beginners to GCSE, A Level, and University students. I adapt to the learner — some prefer a clear, structured approach built around tried-and-tested methods, while others thrive in a more relaxed style. Either way, lessons are always personalised and engaging, shaped by the student’s own interests. We might analyse the lyrics of French songs, read a familiar novel in translation, or explore news, politics, art, or sport — all in French, if that is prefered, or in English.

Grammar is introduced naturally and gradually, always in context, so that it feels accessible rather than intimidating. This approach ensures lessons are not only effective but also enjoyable, helping students build confidence and achieve rapid results.

My year of teaching experience at École Pascal has given me the ability to design and deliver high-impact learning programmes tailored to each student’s individual needs.
