My teaching approach focuses on helping students develop a strong conceptual understanding while building the problem-solving skills and confidence needed to succeed in math and science. I specialize in physics, chemistry, statistics, and calculus and use an interactive, student-centered approach that combines clear explanations, real-world examples, guided practice, and independent problem-solving. Each lesson begins by identifying the student’s current level of understanding and any areas where they may need additional support. I then break complex concepts into manageable steps, demonstrate effective problem-solving strategies, work through examples with the student, and gradually transition them toward solving problems independently. I also use questioning, retrieval practice, visual representations, and frequent knowledge checks to reinforce learning and identify misconceptions. My goal is not simply to help students find the right answer, but to teach them how to understand the material, think critically, approach unfamiliar problems, and become more confident and independent learners. I am interested in working with students at the high school, community college, and college levels, including students taking advanced mathematics, calculus, statistics, chemistry, and physics courses.
