About Pramod
I am a published structural biologist and Scientist at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) with extensive experience in biochemistry, molecular biology, and cell signaling research. My work focuses on understanding how proteins and nucleocytoplasmic transport regulate gene expression in cancer and immune systems using advanced techniques such as cryo-electron microscopy, X-ray crystallography, and computational analysis. I have trained and mentored undergraduate, graduate, and PhD students, and have teaching experience as an adjunct instructor in biochemistry and molecular biology. I enjoy helping students build confidence in complex subjects by simplifying difficult concepts and connecting textbook knowledge to real scientific discoveries.

My lessons focus on building a deep conceptual understanding of biochemistry, molecular biology, and cell biology by connecting fundamental principles to real biological systems and current research. As a published research scientist with experience at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and Purdue University, I emphasize clarity, stepwise reasoning, and visual explanation of complex topics such as protein structure, enzyme mechanisms, gene regulation, cell signaling, and experimental approaches including cryo-EM and X-ray crystallography. I adapt each lesson to the student’s level, whether preparing for undergraduate exams, graduate coursework, MCAT biology, or research projects, and I help students learn how to interpret figures, think scientifically, and solve problems independently. My goal is to make challenging biological concepts intuitive, engaging, and useful for long-term academic success.
