About Samuel
My name is Sam, I am 23 years old and have just finished my master's degree at Cardiff University. As someone with dyslexia, I deeply understand the challenges students face when it comes to studying—whether it’s excessive procrastination or the stress of preparing for an essay or assignment. My personal experiences have given me valuable insight into overcoming these hurdles, and I’m passionate about helping others develop strategies to make academic tasks more manageable and less overwhelming.
Over the years, I’ve developed strong essay-writing skills and fully understand the frustration of not knowing where to start or how to approach a piece of writing. I’m passionate about helping others overcome these challenges by working through strategies that can make both writing and reading feel less daunting. With four years of personal university-level tuition experience, I truly appreciate the impact of effective guidance and practical strategies on academic growth. Whether it’s reading through essays, planning, or finding sources, I’m here to support you every step of the way!
I’m personable, easygoing, and always enjoy sharing a laugh with my students—though I know there’s no humble way to say that! My Approach to Tutoring:
Personalised Techniques: I use a variety of techniques to cater to different learning styles. This includes visual aids, hands-on activities, and practical examples to ensure concepts are understood and retained.
Patient and Flexible Teaching: My teaching methodology is flexible, adapting to the pace and needs of each student. I'll always double-check with the students what their goals are and what they want to improve upon so I can focus on building confidence and reducing anxiety, making learning a positive experience.
Interactive Sessions: Depending on what the student would like to improve upon in the session I can adapt the lesson so they are interactive and engaging, designed to keep students motivated and focused. I incorporate regular feedback and encourage questions to deepen understanding.
Lesson Structure:
Typical Length: Each lesson typically lasts between 60 to 90 minutes, depending on the student’s concentration span and requirements.
Tailored Plans: Lessons are planned around the student's curriculum and personal goals, with regular assessments to track progress and adjust teaching strategies.
Qualifications and Experience:
Academic Background: I have achieved a 2:1 in both my undergraduate and master’s degrees at Cardiff University, studying human geography and planning as well as sustainability planning and environmental policy.
Experience: I have extensive experience working with students of all ages and levels, particularly those with dyslexia and ADHD. I received tutoring for years throughout my university degrees which helped me learn many skills and techniques for structured working.

All Levels: I teach English and Math to students of all levels, from primary school to college.
Ages: My lessons are suitable for children, teenagers, and young adults, particularly those who need extra support due to learning difficulties.
