About Sienna

With 7 years of experience in teaching and performing the violin, I am passionate about helping students develop technical skill, confidence, and a lifelong love for music. I teach school and college students at all levels, from beginners learning their first notes to advanced learners preparing for recitals, performances, and exams.

One of the most rewarding milestones in my career has been guiding students from struggling with posture, technique, or stage confidence to performing confidently and expressively. My teaching emphasises strong fundamentals, including posture, finger placement, bow technique, rhythm, tone, and intonation, while also fostering creativity, musical expression, and interpretation.

I integrate music theory, sight-reading, and listening exercises to develop students’ complete understanding of music. I tailor lessons to each student’s pace, goals, and learning style, creating a supportive, patient, and inspiring environment. Teaching violin allows me to inspire students, cultivate confidence, and nurture a lifelong passion for music.

About the lesson

I teach violin with a methodology centred on motivation, communication, creativity, and integrity, designed to nurture musicians who are confident, expressive, and technically skilled. Lessons are personalised to each student’s abilities, learning style, and goals, combining structured technical practice with creative exploration and performance preparation.

Motivation is essential. I help students set meaningful goals, track progress, and celebrate milestones, cultivating perseverance, engagement, and self-confidence. Communication ensures lessons are collaborative and supportive, providing students with the freedom to ask questions, express challenges, and explore musical ideas.

Creativity is emphasised through improvisation, interpretation, and composition exercises, helping students develop a personal artistic voice and emotional connection to music. Integrity emphasises disciplined practice, responsible learning, and respect for the craft, forming strong habits for long-term growth.

Alongside violin, I teach music theory, sight-reading, ear training, rhythm exercises, and introductory piano, giving students a holistic foundation in musicianship. My methodology ensures students develop technical mastery, artistic expression, confidence, and a lifelong passion for music.
