About Zerak

Hi! My name is Zerak and I am currently in my final semester of studying law. Alongside my legal studies, I have cultivated a deep passion for sociology, a subject I find endlessly fascinating. As someone who has engaged with the intricate layers of sociology, I have discovered how it shapes our understanding of human behaviour and societal structures. Through teaching, I have had the rewarding experience of illuminating the often-overlooked beauty of this field to others. I believe sociology offers invaluable insights into the world around us, transforming what might initially appear mundane into profound inquiries about our daily lives. I strive to bring this subject to life for my students, fostering a learning environment where curiosity thrives. My previous teaching experiences have reinforced my belief in the power of sociology to change perspectives as it did with myself. With my background in law, I am also adept at drawing connections between legal frameworks and sociological concepts, providing a unique perspective that enriches the learning experience. I look forward to sharing my enthusiasm and helping students view the world through a sociological lens that reveals the extraordinary in the ordinary.

About the lesson

I’d like to share a little context about my philosophy towards learning. I believe that one must connect to the material at hand through realistic examples, relating the content of the lesson to the material world we live in. This connection fosters interest in the subject. The greater the interest, the more easily the subject comes to a person, making it seem less like a chore. This approach is how I came to enjoy Sociology. Lessons will be 45 minutes long. Prior to each lesson, I will provide you with reading instructions for the topic so you can familiarise yourself with it. During the lesson, I will go over the topic, providing notes and employing various visual techniques such as mind maps. I encourage note-taking for retention. We will have weekly quizzes to assess your understanding. Students often worry about making mistakes; however, I encourage them, as mistakes are opportunities to learn and grow! I can also tailor teaching techniques based on whatever the student is more comfortable with. I have around three months of experience tutoring A-level law and sociology to people I know personally. Lessons are available for any A or O-level students. Thank you :)
