About Gabriele

I am Gabrielė Bekerytė, a Lithuanian pianist currently residing in Berlin, Germany, and pursuing my Master’s studies at the Universität der Künste Berlin.

I started playing the piano at the age of 6 in Vilnius, shaping my early years at the National M. K. Čiurlionis School of Arts. In 2014, I was led to the prestigious Purcell School in London, where I secured a full scholarship. In 2020, I completed my Bachelor of Music (Honours) studies at the Royal Academy of Music and received an LRAM licentiate for teaching.

During my Bachelor years, I started to teach piano, and up until now, I have taught students of various backgrounds and ages in schools in Lithuania and the UK, privately at their homes or mine, and online. My students' levels ranged from complete beginners to advanced players. I have also prepared some of them for their ABRSM performance exams, where they received top-category marks. I thoroughly enjoyed teaching piano and helping my students achieve their goals and nurture their dedication and love for music.

Throughout my years of playing, I have performed extensively as a solo, chamber, and orchestral piano performer. I have received prizes and recognition in Lithuania, Belgium, Germany, Italy, and the UK. The stages where I have performed include many in Europe and beyond. In 2019, I performed Prokofiev’s 3rd Piano Concerto under the baton of Daniel Capps at Duke’s Hall at the Royal Academy of Music. In the summer of 2023, I collaborated with the Baltic Sea Philharmonic and Kristjan Jarvi, performing G. Pelecis Concertino Bianco at esteemed venues such as the Philharmonie Berlin and Elbphilharmonie Hamburg. In November 2023, I also performed Grieg's Piano Concerto in Meistersingerhalle Nürnberg and Stadthalle Mühlheim.

Since 2017, I've been an active member of the Baltic Sea Philharmonic orchestra, playing concerts in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, Estonia, Slovenia, Poland, Sweden, Belgium, UAE. I have also appeared in recordings, including Max Richter’s “Exiles.”

In 2022, I participated in the European Chamber Music Association Festival and masterclasses at Tallinn Music Academy. The same year, I joined the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival orchestra, and in 2023, I became part of the European Union Youth Orchestra after successful auditions, performing orchestral works and chamber music across various European countries.

My artistic growth has been nurtured by esteemed mentors like Jūratė Teresė Karosaitė, Tatiana Sarkissova, Mei-Ting Sun, Gintaras Januševičius, Jurgis Karnavičius, and Lucas Bondeel. I was also an active participant in masterclasses with respected pianists and professors such as Dmitri Alexeev, Bernard d’Ascoli, Joanna MacGregor, Pascal Devoyon, and Ian Fountain.
