About Valeria

With 6 years of teaching and performing experience, I am an experienced violin tutor dedicated to helping students reach their full potential as musicians and individuals.

I teach school and college students at all levels, from beginners learning foundational techniques to advanced learners preparing for recitals, competitions, and exams.

One of the most rewarding milestones of my career has been guiding students from struggling with posture, technique, or stage confidence to performers capable of playing with precision, expression, and emotional depth.

My teaching emphasises strong technical foundations, including posture, finger placement, bowing technique, rhythm, tone, and intonation, while also nurturing creativity, musical interpretation, and expressive performance. I integrate music theory, sight-reading, listening exercises, and performance practice to provide a holistic understanding of music.

Lessons are customised to each student’s pace, learning style, and goals, creating a patient, supportive, and motivating environment where students are encouraged to explore, express themselves, and develop a lifelong love for music.

About the lesson

I teach violin using a methodology deeply rooted in motivation, communication, creativity, and integrity, designed to cultivate technically skilled, expressive, and confident musicians. Lessons are highly personalised, taking into account each student’s abilities, goals, learning style, and personality.

I balance technical exercises, creative exploration, improvisation, and performance preparation, ensuring students develop a well-rounded musical foundation.

Motivation is central to my approach. I guide students in setting achievable goals, monitoring their progress, and celebrating milestones. This fosters perseverance, self-confidence, and a love for music. I encourage students to embrace challenges as opportunities for growth and to develop resilience along the way.

Communication ensures lessons are collaborative and interactive. Students can freely ask questions, share difficulties, and discuss musical ideas, creating a positive and supportive learning environment.

Creativity is integrated into every lesson. Students engage in improvisation, composition, and interpretation exercises, helping them develop their artistic voice and emotional connection to music. Integrity reinforces disciplined, responsible practice and respect for learning, building habits that support long-term success.

In addition to violin, I teach music theory, sight-reading, ear training, rhythm exercises, and introductory piano, giving students a complete musical education. This methodology nurtures technical mastery, artistic expression, confidence, and a lifelong passion for music.
