About Tae

I studied fine art and fashion design for the total of 6 years and when I was finishing my 4th year of my degree I was offered a position to teach Visual studies at DAMELIN. Thereafter I proceeded to work as a lecturer at DESIGN SCHOOL SOUTH AFRICA, DESIGN ACADEMY OF FASHION and finally completed my years of teaching at FEDISA as HOD for Visual studies. I finally left after a total of 10 years of teaching to pursue 2 businesses of my own, one making formal wear and wedding dresses and the other helping young designers to start up their ranges...from master pattern and sample to grading and fabric sourcing. Thereafter I moved into the arena of freelance patternmaker for young designers and established brands. I am now a senior patternmaker for a big brand that supplies to Truworths and YDE. I love to learn and help others learn, give advice and guide the growth of others.

About the lesson

I am able to effectively communicate to you vast areas of knowledge that come from the unique lived experience of being a teacher, a fashion industry veteran and a business owner.

I have worked for such varied clientele and employment areas within the fashion world that I truly have the secret recipe from behind the scenes.

Along with my experience I am easily able to assist you with formulating your queries to me when it is difficult to express what you need.

I'm do excited to share this library of information with you on your journey.
