About Mudit

In the span of my career of 12+ years, I have grown from a Professional Photographer to Cinematographer, Filmmaker and an Entrepreneur. These days I am expanding into workshop space with new live mentorship courses in Photography, Macro and Bird Photography Expertise Program, a special program for people looking to get in the field professionally and even teaching coloring and photo-manipulation in Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop. My journey with photography began in 2010 while I was attending National Institute of Advertising (NIA). I became the photographer for my institute and took up freelance design projects such as Brochures, Posters, Pamphlets, Coffee-table Books and other print and digital media…While traveling across the country on journalism, film and branding projects, I started exploring different genres of Photography and Videography. Be it landscape, portrait, food photography, product photography or wildlife photography, I did it all! Then I furthered my understanding of photography into film and cinematography while working alongside producers, directors and filmmakers at my job with a production house, and went on to work as a filmmaker for Prestigious brands, CSRs and NGOs completing more than 100 films and mediaworks by 2018. Few of my films have bagged awards for Cinematography in film festivals across the country including Dada Saheb Phalke, Indo-Canadian film festivals. Indulging in my love for travel and adventures, I co-founded a travel project, ‘Pugdundi’, organizing trips to lesser-known parts in India, with a theme of touching the roots and the culture of the place and capturing it all on film. About 5 years ago, I co-founded a creative startup where we offer film and photography production, media and branding consultancy, digital media services & creative workshops. Now I want to give back the knowledge I have gained over the years and so I have curated courses on Photography and related fields.

About the lesson

I take live one-on-one mentorship sessions with each of my students where we go through the basics of Lightroom. We first understand how to import, manage collections and export photographs. Then we understand the tools and their effects based on the histogram.

Jumping to the development phase, we pick up from where we left off with understanding the histogram and make basic level changes to raw files.

Moving further, we dive into deeply understanding the basic panel including

Temperature,
Exposure,
Contrast,
Whites & Blacks,
Clarity, Vibrance and Saturation.

We also use region based tools to understand our tonal curve. Namely Highlights, Darks, Shadows and Whites. With quite a few examples to understand how to use them for different pictures.
These changes effect and help enhance the entire photograph.

We put to use tools like graduated filter and adjustment brush, allowing you to enhance a specific area of your photo with great precision (Area based editing), to make your subjects pop out.

Moreover we take a look at the HSL (Hue, Saturation, and Luminance) options and how we can use them to improve and enhance colours.

Based on your choice of Photography, be it fashion, nature, wildlife, architecture, we choose an example and run through what we have learnt. After touching upon the camera and lens tools, we move to understand how to grade our pictures-

Grading and batch processing
Lens correction
Post crop vignetting
Noise reduction or grain inclusion

Finally we learn to

Edit with Speed, learn to batch process
How to Make presets and use them wisely to quicken our work.
