About Kyia
¡Hola!
I am a final year Spanish and English student at the University of Bristol, one of the top 10 universities in the UK. My third year marks were a 75 in written and 85 in spoken communication (both in the high first class bracket).
Last year, I studied at the University of Salamanca in Spain where I achieved an A* (sobresaliente) in Economic and Legal Translation. I travelled South America during my year abroad and worked for national television as a social media presenter. My content was recognised and rewarded by my tutors in the annual year abroad photography competition.
I am an empathetic and keen languages tutor with
real world condusive insight
I achieved an A* in A Level Spanish, familiar with both Edexcel and AQA boards. Recently, I studied and worked abroad in Spain and South America. I bring my cultural insights and knowledge to sessions as well as focused, practical and first hand teaching of exam material. I will not only support academic language learning, but also make it enjoyable!
I am studying Spanish at degree level because my teacher inspired me to reach new academic career heights. This passion for languages is something I am confident in passing onto my students. My approach is real world and non-prescriptive with an emphasis on explanations, diagrams and reminders about its relevance to future careers!
