About Matthew
I am a Master's educated Accountant with a wealth of experience in Maths. My passion for tutoring arose from previously living in South Korea, where I taught a broad range of ages (8 - 17) English in both a class and one-to-one settings. I'm an enthusiastic tutor whose goal is to inspire and encourage students to progress their learning. I have undertaken personalized tutoring sessions, aimed at nurturing students to reach their full potential.
My teaching philosophy requires understanding specific goals at the start of the learning process so clear objectives can be set. It is vital that the correct aims are set so that lessons can be oriented in the right direction. By doing this, tailored lessons will help boost student confidence through positive reflective thinking.
During a session, we'll dive into the complexities of the subject and utilize illustrative examples together in order to foster initial learning. Then, repeated oral questioning on learnings, to digest the information, are performed before tackling individual tasks to assess comprehension. Each further lesson will assist in tailoring the contents and structure to students needs, giving maximum returns from our lessons. Homework may also be assigned dependent on the student.
