About Ahneesh
My name is Ahneesh, and I am an experienced financial services technology and data professional with more than 20 years of experience working across global organisations including Citi, Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs and Swiss Re.
Throughout my career, I have worked extensively with data, SQL, business analysis and large-scale technology platforms. I have used SQL to investigate data issues, produce reports, validate requirements, support decision-making and contribute to major data and transformation programmes.
I enjoy helping others understand technical concepts in a clear, practical and approachable way. My teaching style is patient, structured and focused on real-world examples, so students learn not only how SQL works, but also how to apply it confidently in professional situations.
I can support complete beginners, students, business analysts, aspiring data analysts and working professionals who want to improve their SQL skills or prepare for interviews. Lessons are adapted to each learner’s current level, pace and goals.

I teach SQL through practical, structured and interactive lessons tailored to each student’s experience and goals.
My approach is based on learning by doing. I explain each concept clearly, demonstrate how it works using realistic examples, and then guide students through exercises so they can apply what they have learnt. Rather than focusing only on memorising commands, I help students understand how to think through a data problem, break it into smaller steps and write accurate SQL queries.
Lessons may cover SQL fundamentals such as SELECT statements, filtering, sorting, aggregation and joins, as well as more advanced topics including subqueries, Common Table Expressions, window functions, data validation and query optimisation. I also use practical business scenarios involving reporting, data analysis, reconciliation and troubleshooting.
A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes. Longer sessions can be arranged for intensive learning, interview preparation or project-based practice. Each lesson usually includes an explanation of key concepts, guided examples, hands-on exercises and time to review questions or areas of difficulty.
I have more than 20 years of experience working in financial-services technology, business analysis and enterprise data across global organisations including Citi, Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs and Swiss Re. Throughout my career, I have used SQL to investigate data, develop reports, analyse issues, validate business requirements and support large technology and data-transformation programmes. I also have experience mentoring analysts, developers and globally distributed teams.
My lessons are suitable for adult learners, university students and working professionals. I can support complete beginners, business analysts, aspiring data analysts, technology professionals and candidates preparing for SQL-based interviews. Lessons are adapted to the student’s current level, preferred pace and career objectives.
