  • 1) When did you first develop a passion for music, and what is your favourite instrument?

Music has been a part of my life from the very beginning. My mother ran a music academy for 15 years, so I grew up completely immersed in a musical environment. I performed often as a child thanks to the support of my parents, but everything changed when I was 12. That was the first time I heard Western music at school - Alicia Keys, Whitney Houston, Beyoncé, Mariah Carey and I couldn’t stop singing English songs after that. It opened a new world for me and eventually led me to travel across the globe and perform on international stages. Since the time, I’ve explored many genres: Opera, Musical Theatre, Pop, K-Pop, Jazz, R&B, and Gospel. That curiosity and love for learning have shaped me into a versatile and passionate performer. Singing remains my favourite “instrument,” because it’s the most personal one, I carry it everywhere.
  • 2) Is there a type of music or artist you can listen to on loop without going crazy?

My favourite genres are Musical Theatre and Jazz. I can listen to an entire musical soundtrack (even at the gym!)and imagine the scenes and story unfolding.I also adore Jazz and Blues. My background is in classical music, which is the opposite of Jazz in many ways, so I love how Jazz constantly evolves depending on the singer or musician. I appreciate the structure and discipline of classical music, but I’m equally drawn to the freedom, improvisation, and challenge of Jazz.
  • 3) What is the most difficult or ‘riveting’ lesson you could give one of your students?

Since I am also qualifided fitness and sports coaching, I’ve discovered how closely connected body training and voice training are. Singing isn’t just about understanding the technique, it’s about feeling how the body muscle works.
My students train their bodies with me to strengthen their voices. We work on core engagement, posture, and even exercises like squats so they can understand how their muscles support their voice when they sing. To produce a strong and stable voice, you need physical strength or at least the ability to activate the right muscles. It can be challenging, especially for those who have never trained their bodies before, but as I always say, “No pain, no gain!”
  • 4) What do you think is the most complicated instrument to master, and why?

I truly believe the most complex instrument to master is the voice. Our body is a unique, individual instrument. unlike a piano or guitar, you can’t see where to place your fingers! Singing requires you to sense and adjust your vocal folds, resonance, and muscles, all without visual guidance.
And unlike musicians who can switch instruments to create different sounds, singers must produce every style - Classical, Acoustic, Pop, Jazz.. using one instrument: their own vocal folds. It’s challenging but also incredibly rewarding. Once you master it, it’s magical.
  • 5) What are your keys to success?

Consistency and the courage to make mistakes. Talent helps, but I believe success is mostly mental. If you can manage your fear and stay dedicated to the learning process, you’ll reach your goals faster than you think.
  • 6) Name three musicians you dream of meeting in your favourite bar in the early hours of the morning. Explain why.

It’s incredibly hard for me to choose just three, but if I had to, they would be Lea Salonga, Jessie J, and Natalie Weiss.

Lea Salonga has always been my muse. Her Disney and musical theatre performances became my early goals as a singer, and from the very beginning of my vocal journey, I found myself following and learning from her voice. She shaped the way I understand storytelling through singing.

Jessie J had a huge influence on my pop music style. Her lyrics are meaningful, thoughtful, and emotionally honest, and they deeply touched me. Her songwriting has strongly influenced the way I write lyrics myself. I would love to talk with her about her musical journey and the stories behind her songs.

Lastly, Natalie Weiss. I was fortunate enough to meet her in Melbourne in early 2026 when I attended her workshop and concert. She is one of the most respected vocal coaches in Broadway and the musical theatre industry. I felt that we shared many similarities in values and teaching style, which made the experience even more inspiring. I’d love to sit down with her again and listen to her stories, both as a singer and as a vocal coach. And she is actually very hilarious person, I’d enjoy a lot to chat with her in the morning!
  • 7) Provide a valuable anecdote related to your musical journey, or your days at music school.

At 24, I flew to London on a whim just to see a musical. It was only a one-week trip, but I wanted to watch as many shows as possible. During that time, I saw Wicked, starring Alice Fearn as Elphaba, and that experience completely changed my life. In that moment, I decided I wanted to move to London. At 28, I finally made that move. Since then, I’ve had the incredible opportunity to perform at the Royal Albert Hall which is the biggest & respected venue in London. and share the stage with many well-known artists, including Ed Sheeran, Anne-Marie, Keala Settle, and Sam Ryder. Moving to the UK was one of the biggest challenges I ever gave myself, but it also became one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I gained priceless moments, growth, and opportunities through that leap of faith. Now, I’m excited to see what my next gamble will be.
  • 8) What little touches make you a Superprof in music?

I always dreamed of becoming a strong performer, but over time I realised that teaching and helping others grow is just as meaningful to me. I began teaching in 2015, and it has become one of the most fulfilling parts of my life. Watching my students improve motivates me to keep learning, and I feel genuinely rewarded by their progress. When the pandemic started, I moved to online teaching. At first, I thought it would be impossible, but it turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Online coaching connected me with students all around the world - something that would never have happened otherwise. I’m truly grateful to be a tutor on Superprof and excited to continue meeting new students from every corner of the world.
