About the lesson

I used to teach every single student with extreme care via online as well as offline too. First, I try to examine the level of the student then I proceed. I try to make learning fun rather than a boring lengthy process. Fundamentals of drawing, sketching, coloring in different mediums are the key areas of my work.

Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?
Ever since I was a child, I had an inclination towards painting, but after seeing Van Gogh's 'The Starry Night' and 'Sunflowers', I was deeply inspired. Reading his biography and seeing Leonardo da Vinci's 'Mona Lisa' further increased my interest in painting, which encouraged me to study this subject and complete my MFA.
What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?
I chose to teach because, during my studies, I discovered subtle nuances that often go unnoticed, and I want to share this knowledge to help others transform their art into masterpieces.
I am also deeply inspired by the artist Jamini Roy, as he was a teacher who spread his knowledge and art among common people.
How does your work help society?
My teaching helps society by providing a productive space for people to express their emotions and cope with stress or depression. Art offers a constructive outlet for their feelings, which can prevent them from drifting into anti-social behaviors and contributes to mental peace.
If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?
If I had to choose a role model, it would be Vincent van Gogh. He held onto painting during his most helpless moments and continued to create art despite immense social and economic hardships. He never abandoned his craft, remaining dedicated to it until the very end, teaching me how to move forward in life by holding onto a small light even in the most extreme moments of adversity.
Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.
Outside of teaching, I am passionate about gardening and maintain a small garden with various flowers, foliage, and Indian spices. I also love cooking, particularly exploring recipes that yield great flavor with minimal ingredients and time. Additionally, I enjoy listening to adventure and detective stories. While painting started as my first hobby, it has now become my profession and true passion.
Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?
Recently, two of my students achieved major milestones—one was selected for an exhibition, and another for a book story competition. Seeing their artwork, accompanied by their certificates, made me incredibly proud, which was topped off when I was awarded the 'Best Teacher Award' by the school. It truly highlighted the dedication of both my students and myself.
