About Bára

I am a friendly and supportive tutor with a real passion for Biology and for helping others learn. I studied Biology at the University of Iceland, with an exchange year at Lancaster University. I understand that the subject can sometimes feel challenging, but I also know how rewarding it is when things start to click. My tutoring style is calm, clear, patient, and fully tailored to each student. I take time to understand how you learn best and adapt my lessons to suit your individual needs. Whether you are aiming for top marks or looking to build confidence, I will support you every step of the way. I care deeply about helping my students succeed, not just in their exams but in how they feel about the subject. My goal is to help you feel confident, motivated, and more engaged in Biology with every lesson.

About the lesson

I tailor every lesson to the individual student, adapting my teaching style to fit their goals, strengths, and preferred ways of learning. Whether you are aiming for a top grade or just want to feel more confident in Biology, I break down complex topics into clear and manageable steps and use real-world examples to make the subject more engaging and memorable. I usually teach 1-hour sessions, but I’m happy to be flexible depending on the student’s needs and attention span. I have a strong academic background in Biology, and I am passionate about helping students succeed at GCSE and A level. My aim is always to create a relaxed and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and have a positive experience with the subject. The lessons would be ideal for secondary school and sixth-form students working towards their GCSEs or A level in Biology.
