I had the incredible privilege of being tutored by Rachael for my A-Level English Literature, and I can confidently say that her guidance played an instrumental role in helping me achieve an A* in English LIt. Rachael's expertise, passion, and personalised approach to teaching made my learning experience truly exceptional. I found it useful when she made detailed PowerPoints in which she included my essays and her comments. She would use her specific keys (green colour for spelling mistakes for instance) which would make it easier for me to detect what I need to fix/improve. Furthermore, at the end of her PowerPoints, she would have tips on how to do well in a checklist form making it easier for me to keep track of my progress. This personalised approach meant that every session was targeted and productive, maximising the value of our time together. Her insightful feedback on my essays and assignments helped me refine my analytical skills and craft well-structured arguments.
She encouraged me to think critically, explore different interpretations, and develop a deeper appreciation for the texts we studied. She always remained calm, listened to my thousand concerns about my writing carefully and would give me words of encouragement as well as detailed explanations of where I was going wrong. I appreciated how she remembered my past writing and how, in our later lessons, she would tell me how my writing was significantly improving.
