About Jennifer

I believe that everyone should have the opportunity to learn an instrument- regardless of age, background, or ability. Music is so much more than just playing notes; it’s a way to express yourself, process emotions, build confidence, and even improve focus and memory. It brings people together, creates joy, and can offer a sense of calm in a busy world. I started learning piano and trumpet as a teenager, and from the moment I began, I was completely captivated. Music opened up a world I hadn’t known existed- a place where I could be creative, curious, and completely myself. It gave me a sense of purpose and belonging, and over time, I realised I wanted to help others experience that too. Teaching allows me to share that joy with others and to support people as they discover what music can mean to them. I love watching students grow- not just as musicians, but in their confidence, independence, and passion. Every learner is different, and that’s what makes teaching so rewarding. Whether someone wants to pass exams, play for fun, or simply try something new, I’m here to help them find their way. As someone with both professional training and personal experience supporting SEN learners, I know how powerful music can be for those who may not thrive in more traditional environments. I aim to make lessons safe, encouraging, and tailored to the individual- because no two musical journeys are the same. Ultimately, I teach because I want others to feel the same sense of connection, freedom, and fulfilment that music gave me. It’s a gift worth sharing.

Lessons are built around you. We understand that everyone learns differently, and that’s why each session is tailored to your individual needs, goals, and pace. Whether you’re picking up an instrument for the first time, coming back after a break, or looking to grow your skills further, our lessons are designed to support your unique journey. All ages and abilities are welcome. Our relaxed, supportive environment is perfect for building confidence and enjoying music in a way that suits you. Interested in taking exams? We can prepare you for ABRSM and other graded assessments- but there's absolutely no pressure. Exams are completely optional, and we’re just as happy helping you play your favourite songs for fun or exploring music at your own pace. Whether you want to read sheet music, improvise, write your own music, or simply enjoy playing, we’ll help you get there- your way.
