About Kostiantyn

I am a Law with French student at the University of Sussex. I originally took up French to enrich myself culturally, seeing the language as a vital gateway to appreciating classic French literature, poetry, and cinema in their original forms.

Having learned French as an adult alongside my native Ukrainian, Russian, English, and Ancient Greek, I have developed a strong, practical grasp of the language. Now, I want to share my knowledge and passion by helping students master French with clarity, confidence, and genuine cultural appreciation.

About the lesson

I take a structured, grammar-first approach to language learning. I firmly believe that without a thorough, rock-solid grasp of grammar, it is impossible to achieve true proficiency or fluency. Once those structural foundations are in place, we focus heavily on building natural, confident spoken French.

All lessons are conducted 100% online and integrate rich cultural material to make grammar engaging and memorable:

Literature & Poetry: We incorporate readings from classic authors such as Honoré de Balzac, Victor Hugo, and renowned French poets. Rather than studying abstract rules in isolation, I pull real sentences directly from their texts to illustrate key grammatical structures, syntax, and nuances.

Cinema & Music: To develop listening comprehension and natural cadence, we analyse dialogues from classic cinema (such as the films of Éric Rohmer) and explore timeless French music (including artists like Charles Aznavour and Joe Dassin).

My Background & Qualifications

Academic: 3rd-year Law with French student at the University of Sussex, consistently achieving First-Class grades.

Linguistic Depth: My native language is Ukrainian, I speak fluent Russian and English, and I have a strong grasp of Ancient Greek. This background in comparative linguistics allows me to explain language mechanics, etymology, and complex syntax with exceptional clarity.
