About Katherine

Hey! My name is Katherine and I am a first year student in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania. I am planning on majoring in Sociology and minoring in Spanish and English. I am fluent in Spanish and love sharing Spanish music recommendations with my friends! When I'm not studying I enjoy going on runs and going on walks with my friends. I'm looking forward to working with you and help you accomplish your academic goals!

About the lesson

As a tutor, I tailor my teaching method and techniques to the individual needs of each student. I believe in creating an engaging learning environment that encourages active participation and critical thinking.

Depending on the topic at hand and the learning style of the student, my teaching methods might include a combination of discussions, demonstrations, and hands-on activities. I prioritize understanding over memorization and encourage students to ask questions to ensure that they are fully comprehending the topic at hand.

A typical lesson plan with me would start with getting to know the student's current knowledge and understanding of the topic. Based on this conversation, I would develop a lesson plan that includes clear learning objectives, relevant content, and appropriate activities or exercises. I would also provide opportunities for the student to practice and apply what they have learned.

What sets me apart as a tutor is my ability to adapt to the unique needs of each student. I am patient, empathetic, and am good at explaining difficult concepts in a simplified manner. I also emphasize creating a comfortable and supportive learning with each of my students.

My lessons are suitable for a wide range of learners and for students at various levels of education from primary to high school. I am well-versed in various subject areas, including but not limited to, English language and literature, mathematics, and Spanish. I can also provide specialized lessons for specific topics, such as essay writing in both English or Spanish or developing study skills.
