About Ritu

I am a passionate violin tutor with 5 years of teaching and professional music experience, dedicated to helping students grow as technically skilled, confident, and expressive musicians. I teach school and college students at all levels, from beginners learning their first notes to advanced learners preparing for recitals, competitions, and exams.

One of the most rewarding milestones in my career has been witnessing students progress from hesitant beginners to confident performers capable of playing with skill, expression, and emotional depth.

My teaching emphasises building strong technical foundations, including posture, finger placement, bowing technique, rhythm, tone, and intonation, while also nurturing creativity, musical interpretation, and expressive playing. I incorporate music theory, sight-reading, listening exercises, and performance practice to provide students with a complete musical education.

Lessons are tailored to each student’s pace, learning style, and goals, creating a supportive, patient, and motivating environment. Teaching violin allows me to inspire confidence, foster discipline, and cultivate a lifelong love for music in every student.

About the lesson

I teach violin using a methodology grounded in motivation, communication, creativity, and integrity, designed to cultivate musicians who are technically skilled, expressive, and confident. Lessons are personalised for each student, blending technical exercises, creative exploration, improvisation, and performance preparation.

Motivation drives learning. I work with students to set realistic goals, monitor progress, and celebrate milestones, building perseverance, self-confidence, and a lifelong passion for music. Students learn to see challenges as opportunities for growth, fostering resilience and determination.

Communication ensures lessons are interactive, collaborative, and supportive. Students are encouraged to ask questions, share challenges, and explore ideas freely, creating a safe and positive learning environment.

Creativity is a key element of every lesson. Improvisation, composition, and interpretation exercises allow students to explore their artistic voice and develop emotional expression. Integrity emphasises disciplined, responsible practice and respect for learning, cultivating habits that promote long-term success.

Alongside violin, I teach music theory, sight-reading, ear training, rhythm exercises, and piano, giving students a complete foundation for both technical and artistic development.
