About Ammar

I have worked for ten years as a lecturer at the Nursing Department, College of Applied Medical Sciences, Jouf University, Sakaka, Saudi Arabia (2009-2019), which offers a four-year Bachelor of Science nursing program. During this time, I have been teaching/instructing undergraduate nursing topics (theoretical and practical). These include Critical Care Nursing, Essentials of Nursing Research, Medical-Surgical Nursing Fundamentals of Nursing Health Assessment & Physical Examination, Concepts of Nursing, Socio-cultural Variation in Health, Psychosocial Nursing Concepts, Epidemiology for Nursing, Maternity and Child Health Nursing and Pharmacology for Nursing. I have also lectured in selective topics: "Basics of Emergency care and first aid" for non-nursing college students. Besides, I have been providing ECG and ACLS courses for undergraduate and internship students and BLS training courses for the public.

About the lesson

I am a strong advocate for applying technology and innovation to enhance the teaching and learning experience of students. I have learned excellent skills in e-learning platforms; e.g. Blackboard Collaborate, video recording for online learning; e.g. Camtasia Studio, interactive class board; e.g. Active Inspire Classroom by Promethean, SPSS skills (data coding, entry, computing and analysis), e-Library & Medical database Access, and Microsoft Office programs (Word processing, PowerPoint and Excel). I believe that learning is a complex interactive process that involves not only students' capabilities but also their feelings, behaviors, classmates, teachers and families. I enjoy the interaction with students in their learning and teaching journey. I believe that each student has the capability to succeed if they are given proper guidance and mentorship. I also believe that students with disabilities and/or caring responsibility should be given sufficient support and efficient time to allow them to have equal standing with their colleagues.
