About Sarah
I am a final year college student, having completed my Leaving Certificate in 2022. Irish was my favourite subject at both Junior and Leaving Cert level.. (unpopular opinion, I know!) but it wasn’t because of how it was taught to me at school. Since I was very young, my family have spoken to me in Irish whenever I’m at home, which resulted in my feeling very confident in my oral Irish, which now, having achieved the top grades in both my Junior and Leaving Cert, I know was the key to my success. I will provide all of the tips and tricks you need to excel in secondary school Irish, while focusing primarily on building on your level of spoken Irish, ensuring a confidence that will carry over seamlessly into your writing.

There is no doubt that Junior and Leaving Cert Irish can be very challenging, and is often taught in a way that fails to convince students of its importance and beauty. My approach to teaching school-level Irish will leave students with a newfound appreciation for the language, preparing them for their exams while also ensuring that they don’t grow to resent the subject in the process; allowing them to maximize their potential and achieve the highest grades possible, while keeping their interest and enjoyment piqued throughout.
