About Donald
I spent the first 9 years of my life in Puerto Rico, born to a Uruguayan father and Dutch mother.
I graduated from Emerson College with two Bachelor of Science degrees in Print Journalism and Public Relations in 1997. I have worked in publishing and education combined for almost 30 years.
During the past 20 years, I got my CELTA certification in Madrid, where I lived from 2004-2011. I taught learners there of all ages in many capacities very successfully in English and Spanish. Over 95% of my students passed tests like Cambridge and TESOL to advance in their careers. They have also passed school tests and levels.
I have taught executives at BBVA, Bankinter, Iberdrola, and many other companies. I was also an adjunct professor at Colegio Santa María del Pilar in Madrid.
I currently homeschool and teach online for EF.

I structure my lessons according to a needs analysis I do after meeting my students. I like to focus on being able to use grammar and vocab correctly then learn rules if necessary. I like to do a lot of role play depending on students' goals and needs.
