About Monamie
Experienced English teacher with over a decade of teaching across India and the UAE. Former Head of English Department at an international school. I specialize in English language, literature, EAL, IELTS preparation, and creative writing.
I don’t do boring lessons. I teach the way I believe language works — through real conversations, real texts, and real connection. Whether you’re preparing for an exam, improving your fluency, or learning to express yourself in writing, I meet you where you are and build from there.
I’ve taught teenagers, adults, and professionals. I’ve run classrooms of sixty and one-on-one sessions. I adapt to how you learn, not how I’m told to teach.
Currently based in Kolkata. Available for online sessions across time zones.

I teach the way I believe language actually works — through connection, not textbooks.
Every student is different. Some need exam prep. Some need confidence. Some need someone who listens before they teach. I start by understanding what you need and how you learn. Then I build from there.
My classes are structured but never rigid. A typical session begins with conversation — real, unscripted, comfortable. From there we move into targeted work, whether that’s IELTS practice, grammar, reading comprehension, essay writing, or fluency building. I use real texts, real scenarios, and real language — not worksheets that put you to sleep.
I’ve taught secondary school students preparing for IGCSE and IB exams. I’ve taught adults learning English as an additional language. I’ve worked with professionals needing business English and interview preparation. I’ve taught creative writing to students who didn’t know they had a voice until someone gave them permission to use it.
With over a decade of experience across international schools in India and the UAE, including five years as Head of English Department, I know how to manage a classroom of sixty and how to sit with one student who just needs someone to be patient with them.
