About Mimi
Hi! My name is Mimi, I am a former middle/high school English teacher who is passionate about students reaching their full potential. I believe every student learns differently and I enjoy watching students confidently learn new skills, and strengthen their existing abilities. My goal when working with students is to tailor each lesson to your student’s unique learning style and ability.

My lessons are tailored to each individual student’s needs, goals, and unique learning style. As a former public school English teacher, with a degree in Language Arts Education, I hope to create a supportive and efficient environment for learning.
Depending on student needs, I focus on reading fluency and comprehension, writing skills, grammar, literary analysis, and test prep. I utilize a variety of strategies including scaffolding, guided practice, discussion, and targeted feedback to help students build the skills and confidence they need to succeed.
For elementary learners, I focus on phonetic awareness and understanding in an age-appropriate and engaging manner to help establish a solid foundation of early literacy.
I also have experience with students who have learning disabilities, special needs, and autism.
