About Darren
Hello! My name is Darren. As an ex-national athlete, elite competitive swimmer, and experienced youth instructor, I bring a unique level of expertise, precision, and passion to the water. Swimming has been the defining journey of my life, and my coaching is built on the exact principles that took me to the highest levels of international and domestic competition
I have spent years training and competing at the elite tier, representing Malaysia and achieving milestones that give me a deep, technical understanding of water physics and stroke mechanics:International Excellence: I am a SEA Age Gold Medalist and was named Best Boy for my category, competing against the top youth talent in Southeast Asia. National Dominance: I am a multi-time MSSM (National) Gold Medalist and overall champion, earning the Overall Swimmer title and Best Boy honors multiple times. Record-Breaking Performance: I am a 5-year record holder and a dominant force in MSSS (State) competitions, accumulating over 50 career medals, including 30+ Golds and multiple Best Boy titles

Who My Lessons Are For
Convenient, high-tier private coaching held entirely at your home or condo pool. I specialize in teaching young swimmers aged 3 to 14:
-Beginners (Ages 3+): Overcoming water fear, building confidence, and mastering basic survival skills.
-Intermediates: Developing correct stroke mechanics for Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke, and Butterfly.
-Advanced / Junior Competitors: Refining elite technique, race turns, starts, and building stamina.
A standard 1-hour home session includes:
-Warm-Up & Drills (25 mins): Fun water entry followed by specialized drills to isolate and fix stroke mechanics (e.g., hip rotation, high-elbow catch).
-Main Set & Conditioning (20 mins): Applying proper technique over distance or speed, tailored to your child’s fitness level.
-Fun Finish & Feedback (15 mins): A mini-race or game to end on a high note, followed by a quick progress brief with parents.
