About Ali
I was not a naturally strong math student. I struggled with understanding concepts and my problem-solving ability. It seemed like all of my friends would get concepts easily, but I could not. But then I started to realize that if I broke down the math problems into smaller pieces, they got easier. I completed my undergraduate in Accounting, and have a Master's and Doctorate degree in Education. While I understand education at a high level, my strength in tutoring and helping your student comes in the form of breaking things down to a very simple, granular level. I spent over 10 years in public and private school settings. I know how to meet students where they are in terms of understanding, ability, and how to grow as students.

- I was in secondary education for 10 years. My tutoring is for students 6th grade through 12th.
- I taught all levels of math through Pre-Calculus. Can also assist in Statistics and Finance.
- I know how to help your student breakdown math problems into digestible pieces based on their current understanding. This creates a safe and comfortable space for them to refine their ability to work hard.
- My approach with your student will use scaffolding techniques to meet them at their current understanding, while challenging them in a healthy way.
- Your student will walk away with three things:
1) Confidence in their ability to work hard.
2) An understanding that even the most complex math problems are just a series of smaller, easier math problems that they can do.
3) An appreciation for math due to their higher-level understanding that they actually CAN do math.
