About Natasha

Hi, I’m Natasha—a dedicated maths tutor based in Dorchester, specialising in GCSE Foundation Maths and Functional Skills. I work with learners of all ages and abilities, helping them build confidence, improve their understanding, and achieve real progress in a subject that often feels overwhelming.

My sessions are relaxed, supportive, and tailored to each student’s pace and goals. Whether you're preparing for exams, returning to education, or simply trying to get to grips with the basics, I’ll help you break down tricky concepts and develop practical skills that stick.

One of the most important lessons I teach is that mistakes aren’t something to fear—they’re something to embrace. Every error is a chance to learn, grow, and get one step closer to understanding. I create a space where students feel safe to try, stumble, and succeed.

I believe everyone can succeed in maths with the right guidance—and a little patience goes a long way. Let’s turn those “I can’t do this” moments into “I never thought I’d get it, but I did.”

About the lesson

I have enjoyed teaching students from ages 16 to 70, however, age is not a barrier, mathematics and English can be fun for everyone.
Every person is an individual, I believe that if you understand why you are doing something it makes it easier to learn. Therefore, I structure my lessons to ensure that you will be able to apply the knowledge to real life situations. for example, if you are working out how to get a mortgage, budget for your house, ensure you get the biggest slice of cake, then it makes it enjoyable.

For younger students - I create your lessons to focus on what you enjoy so that you can apply it to; playing a game, a sport you like, reading, these are things I will change to your interests. This way you will learn skills to use in life whilst enabling you to apply it to exam questions.

I also encourage all learners to create questions themselves to show understanding. For all learners, I like to create questions to show that they understand the topic.

Learning should be fun.
