About Sonia
As a tutor, I will take full responsibility to help my students learn and understand new concepts. I will help with completing assignments but with the guarantee that the student completely understands the assignment and could, in the future, do it without my help. I intend on preparing lessons by studying a student's lesson plan, reviewing textbooks from the class to be aware of the specific lessons, and provide additional resources, problems, and projects if needed.

My Teaching Mantras
- make the student enthusiastic about what they are learning
- have multiple ways ready to explain one concept so any kind of learner can understand it well
- encourage mistakes - teach methods to identify these mistakes and correct them on their own!

A Typical Lesson Plan

- a mini-lesson tailored to the student's strengths and weaknesses, checking in every once in a while that the student is keeping up by asking relevant applied questions (keeping it interactive)

What Sets Me Apart:
Being a student and having recently been a student allows me to empathize more with middle and high schoolers. I remember how foreign certain concepts felt when I was first learning computer science. I also have tutored before while I was in high school (I tutored Freshman) so I also have experience in understanding students and teaching them towards success.
Who My Lessons Are For:
I want to focus on tutoring for middle and high school kids - in computer science, computer programing, maybe even any mathematics courses.
