About Emma
I’m a fourth-year Electrical Engineering student at the University of Canterbury with a strong background in mathematics and physics. I’ve always enjoyed problem-solving and understanding how things work, which is what led me into engineering.
Having recently completed NCEA myself, I understand the challenges students face and the pressure around assessments. I aim to be approachable and supportive, creating a comfortable learning environment where students feel confident asking questions and working through problems at their own pace.
Outside of study, I enjoy motorcycling, netball, and ice skating, which helps me maintain balance and discipline alongside my academic work.

As a fourth-year Engineering student who recently completed NCEA with strong results, I understand both the content and the pressure students can feel around assessments. My lessons focus on building clear conceptual understanding in Maths and Physics, while also preparing students specifically for NCEA internals and externals.
I structure sessions around reviewing key concepts, working through guided examples, and practising past-paper questions to build confidence and exam technique. I aim to explain ideas in a simple, step-by-step way and encourage students to ask questions so they feel comfortable and supported.
My goal is not just to help students improve their grades, but to help them feel more confident and capable in their ability to succeed.
