About Taylor
Hi! My name is Taylor and I am currently studying Medicine at the University of Exeter. The human body and sciences have always been something that have hugely interested me and so I am extremely excited to be pursuing a career as a doctor.
Alongside my passion for medicine, I love to teach! Because of this I have spent the last two years tutoring GCSE students Science and have found this hugely rewarding and fun.
Outside of academia, I really enjoy sport. I grew up competing for Wales in Gymnastics and have recently developed a love of surfing.

I exhibit flexibility when it comes to my approach to our lessons, altering the content depending on the student's strengths and weaknesses, as well as the proximity to their exams. Typically, if we have some time before the exam, I will begin with pre-prepared PowerPoint slides that hold all the content required for that topic. The PowerPoints include a culmination of text with key facts highlighted, video tutorials and questions to test knowledge. Once we have made our way through the PowerPoint and we have reached a good understanding of the topic, we will move onto topic-specific past paper questions, which allow us to connect that knowledge with what may be asked of us in the exam.
Once we have worked our way through all the topics required for the exam, or if we begin our sessions closer to the exam date, we will spend our time exclusively doing past paper questions that are again, topic-specific. The repetition of doing questions on the same topic allows you to learn what the question is asking you and what the mark scheme is wanting to hear from you. By improving exam technique in this way, you will soon be picking up more marks in the exam!
The lessons will typically last one hour, however, I am flexible in this and am happy to alter this if required. I will be teaching GCSE Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
I am a current medical student at the University of Exeter and I am in my fourth year of training. I achieved A* in my GCSE Biology, Chemistry and Physics exams, as well as A* in A Level Biology and grade B in A Level Chemistry and Physics.
I have over two years of experience in tutoring these subjects online, and have taught over 10 students in that time frame.
