About Amaliia
I'm a bilingual Russian-American, originally from Russia and living in the US since I was 13. Being thrown into full English immersion as a teenager gave me an insider's view of exactly what it feels like to be a Russian speaker learning English — the frustration of understanding everything but freezing when it's your turn to speak, the small pronunciation mistakes that feel huge, the moment when it finally clicks and you dream in English for the first time. I bring that firsthand experience into every lesson. Outside of teaching, I'm interested in media, personal branding, and building things — I read a lot, watch too much reality TV, and I'm curious about people, which I think is honestly the most important quality a teacher can have. I'm patient, warm, and I take my students' progress personally.

My lessons are conversation-driven, structured but relaxed. Each session starts with a short warm-up in English to shake off nerves and get the student thinking in the language from minute one. From there, we work on the specific goal ,whether that's fluency, pronunciation, grammar gaps, exam prep, or interview practice using real materials like articles, YouTube clips, or dialogues from shows, not dry textbook exercises. I correct mistakes gently in context so students don't lose their flow, and switch to Russian only when a concept genuinely needs it. Every lesson ends with a mini-recap and one small takeaway task the student can practice before we meet again. My goal is that students leave each session feeling they actually spoke more English than they thought they could that's what builds real confidence.
