About Catarina

I have been drawing and painting since I can remember. I studied Visual Arts in high school and continue to take classes to this day. I have learned from:

- Maria Emilia Palhinha (Cartaxo)
- Vera Santos Silva (Lisbon)
- Online workshops with Adolfo Serra, JeyRam, among others

Furthermore, I am currently studying Art Therapy, which I think could be an interesting complement to any class, even if it is not included formally!

About the lesson

My classes are designed for those who want to explore painting freely and without pressure, especially in watercolor and acrylic but also in mixed media. No experience is necessary — just a willingness to experiment!

I like to think of art as a place to "breathe" — especially when we’re feeling blocked, anxious, or struggling with perfectionism (who among us has never gone through this?). My drawing and painting classes are designed for adults and teens who want to explore their creativity freely, even if they don’t have so-called "talent" or previous experience.

I work with simple exercises, "mini-projects", adapted to each person, focusing on the creative process and personal expression, rather than on “perfect” results. Classes can include exploring color, texture, composition, characters, landscapes, simply playing with materials, or anything else you are looking for!

My focus is to create a safe and inspiring space, where art can be a moment of pause, fun and a breath of fresh air.

For whom?
- Teens and adults of all levels (especially beginners!)
- Anyone who wants to unlock creativity or regain a taste for art
- People who want to paint to relax, discover or simply feel
