About Ewan
I am a French/Spanish graduate of the University of Stirling. I believe that language learning can and should be much more engaging than it is here in the UK/Ireland.
I am highly passionate about language learning and teaching, having studied French and Spanish since secondary school. I worked as an English language assistant in rural Québec for a year, teaching French speaking children at a primary school level. Further to this, I worked in an adult learning centre in Montreal for two years, teaching English to learners from all over the world.
I also spent several months living in Santiago de Compostela, in the north of Spain, to improve my Spanish as part of my semester abroad.

My approach to tutoring involves finding out what points a student struggles with the most, and focusing on that particular weakness to improve it as much as possible. I also like to keep things as fun and engaging as possible. While going over past paper questions is of course vital, the more relaxed environment that private tutoring offers allows for a more laid back approach to learning, and as such I enjoy involving more interesting activities into my teaching, like watching French/Spanish movie clips and videos, or listening to French/Spanish music.
Though my experience as a private tutor is minimal, I spent a year in Québec teaching English to French Canadian children, and as such have more than enough experience teaching to help!
My lessons are targeted at those at National 5/Higher Level French/Spanish, but I am also open to helping out younger students as well.
