About Alma
What I enjoy the most about teaching is seeing the progress of my students. I believe the most difficult part about learning a language is gaining the confidence to speak, to be comfortable making mistakes and be comfortable receiving corrections from native speakers. When it comes to speaking and building this confidence, practice makes perfect! My objective is to help people get rid of the embarrassment one feels when trying to speak a new language. Seeing students going from being hesitant and making long pauses between words, to speaking freely and confidently, is why I enjoy teaching so much.

My lessons are between an hour to an hour and a half. I focus on helping my students expand their vocabulary and offer them the chance to practise conversing with a native speaker. My goal is for my students to speak fluidly and confidently, to gain a rich understanding of the language and ultimately prepare them for real-life conversations. I can focus on specific topics or contexts according to your needs, like professional/corporate French, culinary vocabulary, or simply everyday colloquial French. Seeing as I focus on helping speakers develop confidence to speak clearly, my lessons are more suited to those seeking to maintain or better their current French level. While I can help beginners, I believe intermediate speakers will gain more from my lessons. I teach people of all ages. I am currently living in Italy, and am working as a private tutor in French and English for some acquaintances. My lessons are thus online-only!
