About Eimear

My name is Eimear, and I am in the final year of the Bachelor of Education in Irish and French from UCC. I have spent the last three years carrying out teaching placements in both Irish and French. Orally I am fluent in both languages as I have carried out one academic semester in both the Gaeltacht and in France. I have taught a range of secondary school year groups and through this am aware of what students tend to struggle with the most and have a thorough knowledge of both the Leaving and Junior Cert curriculums. I have spent time in France and the Gaeltacht, and there found a respect and passion for learning languages and have decided to continue that in my career and help students to find joy and appreciation for language learning.

About the lesson

lessons of 1 and 2 hours in French, each lesson personalized to the student focusing on students' individual needs and goals. Lessons focused on both written and oral exams, resources available for different topics. State exams can be an overwhelming concept to students and I aim to help students through advice notes/resources and to break down exams into more manageable bite-size pieces. (oral, aural, reading comp etc.) focusing on different elements in each lesson to help alleviate the stress of exam season. For beginners, focusing on conversational French, which has real-world applications, this mixed in with listening and grammar work can help people build their language abilities.
