About Charlotte

Bonjour! I am a French university graduate currently training as a Primary School teacher (PGCE, Key Stage 2), with teaching experience at primary level in both the UK and France, including work with the British Council.

As part of my degree, I completed a specialist module in Teaching French as a Second Language, which included a school placement delivering French lessons to beginners and Year 6 pupils. I am passionate about helping students build confidence and develop a positive relationship with learning French.

Alongside this, my experience in UK primary schools, including my current PGCE training, has given me a strong understanding of the National Curriculum, particularly at KS2. I am confident supporting pupils with English, Maths, French, homework and KS2 SATs preparation.

These experiences have given me a strong foundation in planning engaging, age-appropriate lessons and adapting my teaching to suit different learning styles and individual needs.

About the lesson

My lessons are structured, engaging and fully adapted to the learner’s age, level and goals. I begin by identifying strengths and areas for development, then plan sessions that are clear, supportive and confidence-building.

For Primary & KS2 pupils:
- Clear explanations broken into manageable steps
- Use of games, visuals and practical activities
- Support with reading, writing, grammar, spelling and Maths
- KS2 SATs preparation and homework support

For French lessons:
- Focus on speaking, listening, reading and writing
- Age-appropriate vocabulary and grammar
- Confidence building through repetition and real-life contexts
- Support for KS2 to A Level (including exam practice where appropriate)

As a PGCE trainee, my teaching reflects current classroom practice and curriculum expectations.
