About Victoria

My name is Victoria, I'm a 23-year-old French tutor from the UK, with over 4 years of tutoring students, from the ages of 5-16, including GCSE level. I have seen students through from beginner to GCSE success, with my goal being to keep your personal subject goals along with your interests, at the heart of my lessons- to boost not only your confidence in the language but also your enjoyment of it! Having achieved a French Language Degree after studying at both St Andrews University and Birkbeck College London, with an additional 4 years French tutoring experience, I can safely say your French goals, whatever they may be, will be at the very heart of what I do.

About the lesson

As a French Language Graduate from the University of St Andrews and Birkbeck College London, with over 4 years of tutoring experience, I offer bespoke online French lessons, tailored carefully and specifically to each child. I offer full hour lessons, or thirty minute lessons, depending on the schedule and wider needs of the student. For younger children aged 5 to around 9, I focus on constructing a genuine enjoyment of the language, through interactive games and activities, spanning various topics such as colours, numbers, introducing themselves and making friends. I pride myself in not only tailoring each of my lessons to the needs and specific learning style of the child through length and age-appropriate subject matter, but further through constructing their lessons, regardless of the educational material and subject, around a topic, be it a game or television programme, that they enjoy, incorporating references or aspects of it, to their lesson. For older children, aged 9-14, I work on a similar principle, with a fostering of their enjoyment of the language being at the heart of the lessons. I base my lessons around the Key Stage structure and curriculum, incorporating their own interests into each lesson, with a range of interactive activities and benchmarks to work towards together, to further foster their enjoyment of and progress in the language. For GCSE level students, I work directly from the GCSE curriculum, incorporating different official textbooks, and their school notes in order to most effectively cover the necessary material. In addition, at the heart of this content coverage, is the student's own confidence; I therefore work closely from what they feel are their points of confidence or aspects on which they feel they need the most attention, subsequently crafting each lesson to address these needs.
