I am a 52 year old woman with 3 boys who enjoys substitute teaching, reading the USA Today newspaper everyday, ballet class and going to the movies with my sons Danny, Colin and David. I absolutely love the French language and culture. I've learned many French songs like the ones from Celine Dion's French Album D'Eux, read famous French literature like 'Le Petit Prince' by Antoine De Saint-Exupery and have studied the French language at Oakland University in Rochester Hills, Michigan for two years earning top grades and winning awards. My overall GPA is currently 3.77. I have also traveled to Paris, France and had a French boyfriend Philippe at one time. Besides traveling to France, I have traveled throughout French Canada and stayed at the hotel Chateau Frontenac in Quebec City.
I am currently a substitute teacher in the Royal Oak and Berkley School Districts teaching grades K-12. I have learned to explain material several different ways in an effort to keep the classroom together and on track oftentimes teaching to the lowest common denominator in the classroom. I am respectful and patiently answer any questions. As a substitute teacher I present the material that the teacher has indicated in the lesson plan. I taught an after school French class through Language Adventure in Rochester Hills and enjoyed teaching conversational French to the third through fifth grade students. I used techniques such as going around the classroom asking students questions like, "Avez-vous un chien ou un chat?" and "Quel couleur preferez-vous?" This was a great experience and this technique can be used in an online classroom.
