About Charlie
I've been teaching French online for the past couple of years, to individuals ranging from early teens to lifelong learners in their 80s! I also taught French part-time in a primary school (FS2 to year 6) last year. I enjoy working with children. In the past, I worked at various children's summer camps in France and Italy, tutoring English as a foreign language. I also have a CELTA qualification.
With my experience, I'm happy to teach students of all ages and levels. :)
I studied Linguistics at university, so I'll be happy to try and demystify any tricky grammar questions you might have. Also, my experience of learning French as a native English speaker gives me the advantage of understanding its particular challenges.

Bonjour ! I'm Charlie. I'm originally from the UK, however I moved to France when I was young. I grew up there, attending local French primary and secondary schools, so my level of French is very near-native. Now I'm back in the UK and eager to share my love of the French language and culture.
My approach really varies according to your needs. We can focus on grammar and "la conjugaison" (verbs) if you are preparing for an exam; we can focus on fluency and pronunciation if you want to interact with French people; we can focus on French for business or tourism, and so on. We will discuss your needs together so that I can plan the most suitable lesson for you.
Most of all, I want the lesson to be an enjoyable experience - something you can look forward to, rather than dread! I understand that it can feel awkward and embarrassing to speak a foreign language. I really try to make my lessons stress-free, confidence-building and fun! I am very friendly and encourage you to make mistakes as this is how we learn.
