About Maya

Hi! I’m Maya — born and raised in France, and still happily living in Paris. I’m a jurist with a double degree in French and English law, as well as a Master’s degree. Having spent a lot of time between the US and the UK, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for English-speaking cultures — and a unique ability to bridge them with the French way of thinking and communicating. Teaching has always been close to my heart. I grew up in a family of educators — my mother is a teacher — and that naturally inspired my love for learning and sharing knowledge. People often describe me as enthusiastic, easy-going, and always smiling. I like to create a positive, encouraging atmosphere where students feel comfortable, supported, and genuinely motivated. I truly enjoy meeting people from all backgrounds, exchanging ideas, and helping them discover the joy of learning French in a relaxed and friendly way.

About the lesson

I believe language learning should be about real communication, not just memorizing grammar rules. That’s why my sessions are highly interactive and conversation-focused — you’ll speak from day one, even if you’re a beginner. Each lesson is fully personalized: I adapt the content, rhythm, and difficulty to your goals and learning style. We use authentic materials — articles, videos, dialogues, or role plays — to make sure what you learn is immediately useful in real life. My approach combines structure and flexibility. You’ll build solid grammar and vocabulary foundations, but always through context and practice, so you truly understand how French works. I also focus a lot on pronunciation and confidence — because speaking naturally is just as important as accuracy. Most importantly, I aim to create a relaxed and motivating atmosphere. Mistakes are not failures; they’re part of the process. I want my students to feel comfortable experimenting with the language and to enjoy every step of their progress. By the end of each class, you’ll leave feeling more confident, more fluent, and genuinely excited for the next one.
